I just found your website and the link to your recording. I haven't had time to check out the entire CD but the samples sound great! A long way from dressing up as the "sheriff" with the cornet band, huh?

Hope to see you soon!

Al,

I just checked out your new album on itunes. Amazing!! Beautiful playing (as always) and very choice pieces and arrangements. I wish I'd had the opportunity to play with you more when I was in Colorado. I hope all is well and wish you much success with the album.

Hey dad!

I played your CD for my friends and they love it, too! Eddie really likes "It's Only Everything" and also "Just A Little Taste". Yaya thinks you are a really awesome trumpet player! They wish they could fly to Colorado to hear you play live. (plane) Lots of love!

Al:
I just asked Bobby Shew the following question by e-mail:

"I just read an interview you gave to Jazz Improv magazine for their Autumn 2004 issue (vol. 5, no. 1) (yes, I'm a bit behind in my reading). In that interview you reference listening to practice tapes made by Clifford Brown, and comment that they are "a great learning tool, especially with regard to how to practice." Do you know if these recordings are commercially available? Thanks for your time."

Bobby replied that he didn't know, but that I should ask you if you had any leads. Thanks very much for your attention.
