Zac Timbrell

Zac Timbrell is a senior trumpet performance major at the Lamont School of Music. He is the youngest in a very musical family from the small town of Salida located in central Colorado. Zac graduated third in his class at Salida High School where he set state records qualifying for All-State Jazz Band four consecutive years and All-State Orchestra three consecutive years. Zac received many academic and music scholarships when applying to universities and chose the University of Denver as his home in the fall of 2002. During his college career, Zac was a member of the Lamont Jazz Ensemble, Lamont Jazz Orchestra, Lamont Wind Ensemble, and Lamont Symphony Orchestra. In the fall of 2003, Zac auditioned for a role in the soap opera “Guiding Light” and was flown to New York for a live audition on CBS. During the fall quarter of 2005, Zac was honored as a Cherrington Global Scholar and studied at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, England. Zac will graduate from the University of Denver in June of 2006 and plans to attend Colorado State University in the fall pursuing a Master of Music degree in Music Education. He will be assisting the head of the education department at CSU, teaching a music appreciation class to non-majors, and playing second trumpet in the Faculty Brass Quintet.
