Hitoshi Sugie
Hitoshi Sugie hails from Handa-city, Aichi-prefecture, Japan. He started playing the trumpet when he was 10 years old, and he personally studied with Mr. Masahiko Inoue, a former principal trumpeter with the Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra. Mr. Sugie is a graduate of the Course of Music, Aichi Prefectural Meiwa Senior High School in Nagoya-city, where he studied with Mr. Yoshiaki Takemoto, a former member of the Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra and current vice-president at Nagoya University of the Arts, a sister school of the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music. Hitoshi is presently a senior at DU, majoring in trumpet performance, where he studies with Mr. Alan Hood. Upon graduating with his B.M. in Performance, Hitoshi plans to travel back to Japan and will consider pursuing a master of music degree at the Nagoya University of the Arts.
